Through the CollaboraPaint program, the event was held in Maeps, Serdang on 27-28 July 2024. Sixty Sick Paintlab carries the title “Kolorboration”
At the event held at Maeps Serdang, 27-28 July 2024, an Indonesian painter community called Sixty Sick Paintlab brought the title "Kolorboration" to collaborate with two Malaysian artists, namely the famous custom builder, Pa'din Musa, and also motovlogger Naim Fadhly (Power On!). Pa'din Musa brought four motorbikes to be displayed at the AoS 2024 event, namely one Harley Davidson Panhead unit in the AoS 2024 Invitational Bike Build-off area, and also three motorbikes for the "Show & Shine" area in Hall A - MAEPS Serdang. In that area, Pa'din Musa displayed a creation titled "Sobel 69", namely a 1969 Harley Davidson Pan-Shovelhead motorbike with a paint job done by Belkote and SixtySick Paintlab. "I am happy to have the opportunity to collaborate with Kolorboration. The painting for my previous motorbikes only used simple black or gray colors with one outline. But this time I can try an out-of-the-box concept by adding Vans accents to it," said Pa'din Nusa. Through this "Sobel 69" motorbike, Pa'din Musa won several awards, namely "Best of Show 2024", "Best Fabrication", "Best Chopper above 401cc", "Stoop Motorcycle Pick", "Roughcraft Pick", "Choppajoop Pick", and "Bangkok HotRod Custom Show Pick".
The Vans accent that Pa’din Musa put into the “Sobel 69” design is a form of dedication and gratitude to Vans Malaysia for their support during his decades of career in the skateboard world. Therefore, the choice of color tone in the painting is also adjusted to Pa’din Musa’s own Vans Signature series. The painting on this motorbike is applied using Belkote AXT Moonlight Blue, with faint Vans accents throughout the body, and pinstripes with Imitation Gold colored outlines. The use of Belkote Indonesian paint products in this creation can be seen through the use of Belkote AXT Moonight Blue and AXT Candy Blue for the color, Clearcoat 2100HS series for the clearcoat finishing part, and Thinner Xtraslow Reducer. “I am satisfied with the results of the color work on this motorbike, because it managed to display a blackish blue color. This is black not blue, blue not black. This can all be realized thanks to Kolorboration,” added Pa’din Musa. The painting on this motorbike was done by Eldaddy Paintlab and Ican Lazuli, and the auto-detailing work was done by Ahmad Hakiki from Dice Metalpolish from Bogor.
Sixty Sick Paintlab Community Also Doing Paintjobs
In this CollaboraPaint program, the SixtySick Paintlab community also did a paint job on a BMW R1100RS motorbike and a Honda ST90 “Dax” owned by Naim Fadhly, a YouTuber and motovlogger for Power-ON! Malaysia, and won the “Best of Paint” award. One of the core members of CollaboraPaint, Rizki “R.S.S.Q”, also did an “Angels” themed paint job on a 1968 Harley Davidson Panshovel and “Run Honey Run” on a 1948 Harley Davidson Panhead motorbike, both of which were creations of Hills Angels Garage. Custom creations on the 1968 HD Panshovel won the “International Guest Pick Award” for Mooneyes Bangkok, Ignite Bangkok, Spinny Custom, and Mr Pinman, and won the “WheelSpin Chopper Bangkok Thai” pick-award for the 1948 HD Panhead motorcycle. One of Indonesia’s female painters, Shofy “Paintwitch”, also won 2nd place in “Best Gastank Design” for her creation on the Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 chopper motorcycle owned by Rafiq, PR and Marketing Executive from AoS. In addition, Belkote Paints also supported the hand-painted information sign work for each of Naim Fadhly’s and Rafiq’s motorcycles.
The painting on Naim Fadhly’s BMW motorcycle is mainly seen in the dark colored gas tank design and winged image, with the theme “Sunway Crow”. On the other hand, the Honda Dax small motorcycle gets a custom creation with the theme “Lil’ Monster” from Indonesian painters, Ginsweng and Erik “RiderRifki”, to bring out its fierce side. “My dream is to be able to display my motorcycle creation at this Art of Speed event. Thank you to SixtySick PaintLab, Bandung, and also Belkote Paints for the opportunity and support. With the title Kolorboration, I hope this can be proof of long-term collaboration for the advancement of the custom painter industry and custom culture,” said Naim Fadhly commenting on the collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia entitled Kolorboration by Belkote Paints.
